I think there is a missing “of” in “lacking one the base elements”.
And for a moment I thought that Snow-by-Night didn’t have a physical body because she was lacking the earth element. But that turned out to be the wrong reason, and the element that she’s lacking would be fire, so I was doubly wrong about that.
Well nuts. We’ll get it fixed.
Snow-by-Night is not powerful enough to form a physical on her own. She needs a manitou as powerful as Father Winter to pull that off. Brittany has done a beautiful illustration of Snow-by-Night’s transformation which we get to on Monday.

Could it exist spirit/manitou based magic in this world? I mean, if every object has a manitou, maybe you could manipulate/negociate/coerce him to affect his linked object ( like in “The Way of Kings” from Brandon Sanderson)
I have not read anything by Brandon Sanderson so I can’t say one way or the other if it is like The Way of Kings. Manitou-based magic in Corthis is the Spirit-Talkers of the native tribes of Everique. It is very powerful, but also very dangerous because the Spirit-Talkers must treat with the manitou. Snow-by-Night is a fairly benign manitou. Others can be arbitrary and even cruel. Since Japethe has no manitou, there is no Spirit-Talker tradition from Saronne.
