Almanac – Chimerae
November 20th, 2014This week’s Almanac entry is Chimerae. These creatures of the result of alchemical processes that modify natural creatures. Sometimes it gives them unnatural enhancements. Sometimes it mashes together elements of different creatures. Being a long term D&D player and writer, mad alchemists can explain so much. Owl bears, for example.
We’ve been accepted to Ravencon next April. I’ve heard really good things about this convention, and I’m looking forward to attend.
“There are whispers of a chimera formed from the stitched-together pieces of human corpses, but this has never been confirmed.”
If this ever shows up in the story proper, I will personally drive to your house and throw a chair at you omg
Tho in retrospect it’s prolly not as creepy as I imagined… (for some reason I had it in my head it would turn out to be like a giant so it’s arms would be made of like several whole corpses sewn together ans it’s hair is just children’s bodies dangling by ropes or some shit //screaming)
But maybe if it’s more like this http://i.imgur.com/nsAtpXC.jpg I’d be okay with it..
That’s something completely different than a chimera. It is possible to create a corpse collector by summoning a spirit and forcing it to inhabit the dead flesh, giving it a semblance of life. Only the darkest spirits would agree to do such a thing, but you could force other spirits to do it.
Is that all I need to do to get you to come visit? *starts scribbling notes*
