Chapter 12 Page 2
December 3rd, 2015The threat of being buried beneath a zillion feet of snow stays Defiant Elk’s hand on Page 2 of Chapter 12. Instead, Blaise finds himself in Elk’s sanctum both physically and emotionally. This is one of my favorite scenes so far. I hope you like it.

‘buried beneath a zillion feet of snow’
So Moncton, New Brunswick and Boston last winter.
Especially like Boston. They must have pissed off a manitou.
This guy is super-human. No normal human being can one-hand throw something in their own weight category like that – even if he is a VERY strong person (and before the industrial revolution, being exceedingly strong from a lifetime of incredibly demanding physical labor wasn’t uncommon), he doesn’t have the mass to do it without being significantly shifted himself.
The laws of physics will not be denied.
He’s throwing Blaise down a slope, so it looks like a much more powerful throw than it necessarily needed to be.
Never underestimate the empathy of those who are also down-trodden, Mr. Elk
Like most of the characters in this story, Elk has a lot to learn.
So maybe he doesn’t. Let’s back off a minute and say that nobody really understands anybody else’s predicament.
But he might know a thing or two about Snow. That might be helpful.
