Chapter 14 Page 7
November 2nd, 2016Oh dear. Well, that lasted all of 8 seconds before the two started at each other. You can get a hint of why Marguerite got the command when you vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
You might have noticed the different colors of the uniforms. In case you’re wondering, Vivienne is from the colonies which falls under the navy. In historical France, they had gray uniforms. Marguerite is an officer in the army, which wore white uniforms. History is a bit more nuanced as different units had different color lining on their coats, their waistcoats (the vest-looking garment), buttons, and stripes on the hats. For the sake of clarity, I’ve asked Steph to keep it simple on the colors. Saronne is white/gray with blue. Morante is red with yellow.
Fairfax county schools have Monday and Tuesday off and a half day on Friday. So my family is going to Disney for the extended weekend! Weeeeeee! Magic Kingdom! The girl is all of 6 so it seems a perfect opportunity. Since I’ll be galavanting around amusement parks, Diane will be managing the update on Monday.
Have a great weekend!
Can see the conversation going on in the throne room now
‘Who would like to go to the colonies in command of the forces there?’
and she was the only one who volunteered as the others all couldn’t be bothered or didn’t want to leave their status nests.
Erm… yeah. Women in the military.
OOOK, that’s enough of the two catty dorks. Can we get back to shirtless Defiant Elf now?
;-) ;-)
It’s also what happens when nobles run the military. Lots of egos. We’ll be getting back to Defiant Elk in Chapter 15.
Feisty redhead be feisty.
Smug brunette be snug.
Also…………..
Meow.
:)
Damn typos……..
SMUGSMUGSMUGSMUG
Not snug.
Altho……snug is nice too.
:)
I didn’t in fact notice the colour difference before you pointed it out. Those shades are really close to each other!
I think I’ve said something like this before, probably about Elk’s coat, but holy crap I just adore their coats.
Baroque era fashions are awesome. It’s one of the reasons I picked this era.
Waiter! Two saucers of cream if you please!
If I was living in town, I think now would be a good time to start learning Morantine.
“I’m the best you’re going to get” (looks at vote incentive)
oooh, she wasn’t just bragging.
