Page 7 of Law of the Riverside Part 2 is up. This concludes Ald’s tale of how and why he came to Saronne. My thanks to Natalie Baaklini for bringing it to life with her incredible art. She did a fabulous job, especially considering that I asked her to pick up coloring duties on top of the vignettes. She’s a woman of miracles.

We start Chapter 5 on Monday. It’s titled Ill-Gotten Gains. To see Brittany’s inks for the cover, vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.

Diane and I leave for GenCon tomorrow. I’ll be away until Sunday night, running the new iteration of D&D. It looks really good. I’m really excited about sharing it with new players. Brittany will be doing the journal entry on Friday. So you’re in for a treat.

Page 6 of Law of the Riverside Part 2 is up. One of the Phoenix Men asks, “You’re no lawman. What’s this to you anyway?” Ald answers with acts, not words. To see a preview of the final page of Law of the Riverside Part 2, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comic. It’s well worth it. I think it might be Naty’s best panel for the entire vignette.

GenCon is coming up this week. I leave on Wednesday. This is going a great convention. I have a book being released (Menzoberranzan: City of Intrigue) and I’m judging a lot of D&D Next, the new version of D&D. It’s a very good system. I’m looking forward to running it and sharing the wonder and imagination with as many people as possible.

Page 5 of Law of the Riverside Part 2 is up. The Phoenix Men show why they’re the most dangerous crew in Sherbourg. Naty is excellent at drawing action scenes and she shines on this and coming pages. To see what Grégoire is up to while the other Phoenix Men engage Ald, vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.

In addition to Snow by Night, I do freelance work for Wizards of the Coast. This month, I have a new book coming out. Menzoberranzan – City of Intrigue. Sure, I can do that. Chapter 1: Campaign of Intrigue, Chapter 2: The Way of LolthChapter 3: Drow FactionsChapter 4: The City of SpidersChapter 5: The North Dark, and Chapter 6: Be a Drow. Enjoy!

As you may have heard, Otakon topped 32,000 attendees this year. That’s a lot of anime fans in one place. The costumes were fantastic. Homestuck has a lot of fans. I would estimate that 5% of the attendess were dressed as trolls from Homestuck. This is easier a testament to the popularity of the webcomic or the ease of creating a Homestuck troll costume. It’s probably a mixture. Either way, I’m glad to see a webcomic getting so much love and attention.

Brittany and I met a lot of great artists at the show. There was the usual suspects, including Shazzbaa of Runewriters and Dirk Tiede of Paradigm Shift, and I got to see Erin McManness who did all our prints. I also met Savannah and Andrew of Amya and Cari of Tiolet Genie. One of my personal heroes, Lora Innes of The Dreamer was there as well. I took a lot of pictures so go check them out on our Facebook page.

And we’re back from Otakon. Oh wow. Just wow. Otakon is an amazing show. Three days of color, sensation, and unrelenting energy. Brittany, Diane, and I had a fantastic time. Brittany helped me man the booth while Diane ran amok (amok, amok, amok!) and enjoyed the sights and sounds of the largest anime convention on the East Coast. I’ll have a full con report prepared for Wednesday’s update. My thanks to Amy for covering for us on Friday. Thank you, sweetheart!

I’m pleased to post the second page of part 2 of Law of the Riverside. Ald and Mathurin await the Phoenix Men, while Ald recalls events from his past. To see the first glimpse of the dreaded Phoenix Men, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comic.

Law of the Riverside Page 8

April 10th, 2012

Page 8 of Law of the Riverside is up. Ald accepts Mathurin’s bid to help with the Phoenix Men, and this concludes Part 1 of the vignette. Ald faces off against the Phoenix Men in Part 2 which will post following Chapter 4. Speaking of Chapter 4, vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics to see a glimpse of the upcoming cover. We start the new chapter on Monday and return to our 2 pages/week schedule!

Tangent Artists continue their awesome little storyline of laser tag between webcomic crews. They just added Brittany to the mix. Is it just me or did they draw Britt in such a way that she resembles Desire from the Sandman graphic novels?

Page 7 of Law of the Riverside is up. Ald is such a liar that his pants are on fire. And his hat apparently. To see a glimpse of Mathurin making the offer, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comic.

Only one more page to go, then we begin with Chapter 4. Britt has done a marvelous job with the first couple of scenes. I can wait to share them with you. I also want to thank Naty for lending (leasing?) her incredible talent to us for this vignette. Read all about Naty in her bio on the About page.
