Law of the Riverside Page 6
March 27th, 2012Page 6 of Law of the Riverside is up. Mathurin, gendarme of the Riverside, introduces himself with appropriate flair. I positively love the flashback panel that Naty did. For a great shot of the inside of the Three Sheets, vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
Conventions aplenty coming up. This weekend, Diane and I are heading to VA Comicon in Richmond Virginia. Brittany and I will be attending Pittsburgh Comicon on April 20-22. All three of us will be at Otakon July 27-29.
On a different note, Helen of Narrative Investigations reviewed Snow by Night as part of her Webcomic Review Month. She seemed to enjoy the comic and even mentions our almanac as a bonus. Please, check out her review, and then go read all her other reviews. I did. She’s very insightful. And yes Helen, we will have lots of stories with the side characters. Ald is up right now. After that, I have a story featuring Vivienne, the governor’s daughter.
Fan Art Rendez-vous 5
March 25th, 2012This week’s Fan Art Rendez-vous is Convince Me by Andrea Bell. As you can see in the illustration, she’s got a wicked sense of humor. Please check out Mistress, her comic of high adventure, high romance, and high fashion.
Oh, great news! We won the lottery to attend Otakon this July.

The Snow by Night team will also be attending a couple of conventions next month. The first is VA Comicon down in Richmond, Virginia on April 1 (and this is no April Fool’s joke). It’s one day only, but they’ve got some incredible talent attending. I am flattered just to be one the same room as some of these artists.
The next is Pittsburgh Comicon in Pennsylvania on April 20-22. They have list of guests as long as your arm with some impressive artists on it. Come by and meet us in the Steel City.

I owe you all an overdue convention report from Katsucon. Brittany and I were well placed in the Artist Alley, right across from Chris Flick of Capes & Babes. We had Team Tamuran on the other side of our square. Jen of LaSalle’s Legacy wanted part of the action and moved down to join us on Sunday. We also got to hang out on Saturday night with Robyn and Andrew of Technoangel Studios. One of the highlights was joining Chris for a panel on “Running a Webcomic on a Shoestring.” I had a great time with it, but it does require more than shoestring. It also takes Scotch tape and picture wire.

Today we begin the vignette Law of the Riverside, drawn by the incredibly talented Natalie Baaklini. This short story presents the tale of how Ald, the gendarme of the Riverside district, came to Sherbourg. Her style is amazing. I hope you like it as much as I do.
Brittany and I are also pleased to announce our Fan Art Rendez-vous. Beginning next Monday, we will be posting a piece of fan art to the site. We will post another piece of fan art every week throughout the duration of the vignette. Diane is making us a new page where we can proudly display our fan art submissions. The guidelines are simple. Create a piece of art that has something to do with Snow by Night. It can be an illustration, poetry, or prose. If you are submitting something written, please keep it under two pages. Send it to my email address as a .jpg or .png (if an illustration) or .doc or .pages (if written). Brittany and I will consider them all and post the the one we like the best to the site. By submitting the fan art, you are giving us permission to post the art to our site. Otherwise, you keep all the rights.
One last bit of news, I’ve added another webcomic to our links page – The Fox & the Firebird. If you love fairy tales as much as I do, then you’ll enjoy this tale about the pursuit of the legendary firebird.
Daughters of the King Page 7
November 8th, 2011Page 7 of the Daughters of the King is up. This concludes our tale of colonial love. I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you for following this vignette with me. And my thanks to Amy for writing the script and to Shazzbaa for her fantastic artwork. If you haven’t checked out Shazzbaa’s webpages, you really should read Today Nothing Happened and Runewriters.
Next Monday we resume our main story. For a preview of the cover of Chapter 3, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
