How We Decided You’re People Page 1
September 7th, 2016Toothy Kit has a story for Blaise and for us on Page 1 of How We Decided You’re People! Hold on to your tricornes and your tuques, because when Kit is your storyteller, it’s going to be a wild ride! You can see how well Blaise is handling it, when you vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
The artist for this vignette is Mittie Paul. She’s excellent with facial expressions and visual humor which is why she’s perfect for this vignette.
I hope everyone had a great Labor Day. Steph and I went to Baltimore Comic Con. There we met a lot of great artists and comic fans! In particular, I ran into Lee Cherolis of Little Guardians and Lynn Smith of Plume. Both are quality comics. I even met Hayley Atwell, whom I’ve admired since Pillars of the Earth. I’m also an Agent Carter fan.
Serpents in the Water Page 12
June 1st, 2016The leviathan flees to the delight of the Morantine on Page 12 of Serpents in the Water. The fleet is safe but Aradie stands in the crosshairs. This wraps up Serpents in the Water by Cindy Mirabile. Thanks for drawing for me, Cindy!
I think it’s time for us to go see what’s going on with the Blaise, Snow-by-Night, and the Liranequois. We’ve been away from them far too long. I’ve missed them! Especially Tooth Kit. She’s a hoot. You can see what she’s up to when you vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics! We’re back to Chapter 13 on Monday!
I was at Balticon last weekend. It was a great con. A little chaotic, but a ton of fun. I got to meet a lot of great people. Since they’re all literary fans, they caught onto what I was doing with this story very quickly. I’m looking forward to next year!
The Kickstarter campaign for Tattered Weave is in its final days. We’re almost $8k and already hit our first stretch goal! Michelle C of Ava’s Demon will be designing a Kith (one of the magical pets you can befriend in the game) for us. Come join us for an interactive story after the end of the world.
Serpents in the Water Page 11
May 25th, 2016The line is formed on Page 11 of Serpents in the Water. The Morantine pour broadside after broadside into the leviathan. You can see the leviathan’s response when you vote for Snow by Night on Top Web comics.
The line was a devastating formation for galleons and frigates of this era. It covers the weakness of the sailing ship — the fore and the aft, where they have few canons. By forming a line, the ships support each other and concentrate their fire on a single point. The effect was devastating.
I’m at Balticon this weekend! Hanging out with George R.R. Martin who is the Guest of Honor. And by hanging out, I mean I will be in the same hotel. General vicinity counts, right?
**UPDATE!**
I won’t be posting a new page on Monday as it is Memorial Day. The next page update will be Wednesday June 1.
Serpents in the Water Page 10
May 23rd, 2016BOOM. This is going to hurt. Serpents in the Water Page 10. A preview of more action awaits when you vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
Serpents in the Water Page 9
May 18th, 2016Musketeers are tasty, but they buy time on Page 9 of Serpents in the Water. Meanwhile, the stress causes General Sayre to have an asthma attack. To see a preview of the next page, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
Serpents in the Water Page 8
May 16th, 2016The Morantine fight back against the Leviathan on Page 8 of Serpents in the Water. The flag lieutenant signals the fleet via lantern to form a line. My favorite use of lantern signals in a story has to be Ponyo where the wife and husband are having an argument from ship to shore. Such a great scene.
To see the Leviathan’s retort to the Morantine, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
The Tattered Weave Kickstarter is going really well. Less than $1,000 to go until we hit our goal. Please consider helping us launch this fantastic new project!
Serpents in the Water Page 7
May 11th, 2016The leviathan puts on a display of intimidation on Page 7 of Serpents in the Water. Madame l’Admiral is not impressed. When you’ve been at sea as long as she has, it takes a lot to faze her. General Sayre is pretty young and doesn’t have her experience at sea. When you vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics, you’ll see the Admiral’s response to the leviathan.
I’m running a Kickstarter for the Tattered Weave, which is an interactive story with pets and games. Kristen Kemper who illustrated The Peacemaker and the Tree of War did the opening animation for Tattered Weave. We posted it on Youtube as well as having it on the Kickstarter. Check it out! It’s beautiful.
Serpents in the Water Page 6
May 9th, 2016The leviathan rears from the deep green sea on Page 6 of Serpents in the Water. Time to adjourn the meeting, Admiral. Please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics to see more awesome sea serpent action by Cindy Mirable.
In case you missed the update on the Volume 2 Kickstarter, I have the translations for Volume 2 from Nic. I’m going to be lettering in French for the next couple of weeks. So expect those files by the end of the month.
And speaking of Kickstarter, the campaign for the Tattered Weave is live! It’s a virtual community with games, collectibles, creature companions, and an interactive story that lets you decide the fate of the world. Check out the animation in the Kickstarter video.
