Almanac – Fur Trade
December 8th, 2011This week’s Almanac entry is the fur trade. Since we’re introducing our trapper in Snow-by-Night’s story, it seemed a good time to talk about the economic foundation of the colony. It’s a fascinating subject. Money just poured through historical French Canada and the trade caused a number of wars between the various tribes of the northeastern woodlands. Our story takes place about a century before the fur trade collapsed so the wealth is there for the taking. This also explains why you have so many rooks, smugglers, and other ne’er-do-wells in Sherbourg.

Chapter 3 Page 8 is up. Snow-by-Night begins her tale explaining why she is in Sherbourg. Say farewell to civilization as we we venture deep into the wilderness in the footsteps of the trappers.
Just an fyi, Snow-by-Night, the character, is hyphenated. Snow by Night, the title of the comic, is not.

Almanac – Antoine Dupuis
December 1st, 2011This week’s almanac entry is Antoine Dupuis, the curator of the Museum of Sherbourg. We introduced him a while ago and I’m just now getting around to giving you some background on our botanist. There is always so much to do with a webcomic.
