Almanac – Torrid Zone
June 28th, 2012This week’s Almanac entry is the Torrid Zone – the region of Corthis at the equator. It is hot, hot, hot, and directly under the sun. It was once believed to be uninhabitable, but several great civilizations have proven that theory wrong. Explorers are still looking for those legendary giants though.
Chapter 4 Page 22
June 26th, 2012Chapter 4 Page 22 is up. Blaise sets to work and proves why he’s the “Charm” (slang for a picklock) of the group. To see a great shot of Blaise from the next page, vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
Now that it’s been a couple days, Britt and I are finally recovering from HeroesCon. It’s a wonderful convention, but the drive back on Sunday is always brutal. We did very well this year — meeting lots of new fans, telling people about Snow by Night, and even making some sales. Thank you to everyone who stopped by out table. If you are joining us for the first time, welcome! Britt and I hope you enjoy the story. I took some pictures at the convention. You can find them on Snow by Night’s Facebook page. Go check them out. While there, give us a like on Facebook. We do love to be liked.
We also met a lot of other great artists. We had the pleasure of sitting next to Shazzbaa of Runewriters, who was sharing a table with Sarah Shaw. We also met Tess Cooper of Little Forkers and Rachel Deering of Anathema, as well as several great illustrators Jason Axtell, Justin Gerard, and Michael Watkins. Several of our old friends where there with new books — Jen Z. Smith of LaSalle’s Legacy, Elaine Corvidae of Riven Sol, and Chris Flick of Capes & Babes.
Chapter 4 Page 21
June 24th, 2012Hello everyone! I’m writing this from the Panera outside the Charlotte Convention Center. Brittany and I are still down at HeroesCon. We have one more day of show to do before heading back to Virginia. My thanks to Diane for covering for me on Friday while I was on the road, even in the midst of a personal emergency. My thoughts are prayers with you and your friend, Diane.
Chapter 4, Page 21 is up and my is it beautiful. Brittany really outdid herself on this page. To see hint of what further challenges await Blaise and Jassart, vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
Almanac – Saps
June 22nd, 2012Hello, Diane here. Sorry for the late update – since Eric and Brit are off to HeroesCon, they left me in charge yesterday, but I got an emergency call late in the night and went to the hospital for a close friend. I dropped straight into bed when I got home, and completely forgot the update until Eric texted me this morning.
So, here we present our next Almanac entry: Saps. I’ve known what a lot of the weapons on our Weapons page are ever since I started playing D&D in elementary school, but reading the details and history about each one always absorbs me. Eric’s a fanatic about research, and it really shows in his writing. Take a look for yourself!

June 19th, 2012Chapter 4 Page 20 is up. Jassart and Blaise take a few extra steps to cover their trail. To see a preview of the upstairs of the manse, vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.

Chapter 4 Page 19 is posted. Jassart and the guard face off. Well, not really. This isn’t a duel and Jassart takes every advantage he can. To see a peek at what happens next, vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
HeroesCon is this weekend. Britt and I will be there with chapter books for Chapters 1 through 3, as well as prints of Blaise and Jassart (Mathilde and Snow-by-Night are coming soon), the alchemical rifle from Chapter 2, and a set of glyphs of the four elements. Heroescon is pretty big so I’ve prepared the following handy dandy map to help you find us.
Almanac – Tuque
June 14th, 2012Notice the cool knit caps that Blaise and Jassart are wearing? That style of hat is called a tuque, and it’s the subject of this week’s Almanac entry. In real life, these wonderfully warm and incredibly practical hats were used by the voyageurs to keep their heads roasty and toasty as they traveled the cold lake lands of Canada. They’re so good that we use them to this day, and they’re pretty much the official hat of Canada.
Chapter 4 Page 18
June 12th, 2012Chapter 4 Page 18 is up. The crew makes their way through the house, but the guard is patrolling. To see a preview of what comes next, vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
Diane has been kind enough to add a new section to our Extras page. Press! Snow by Night got a review from Narrative Investigations reviewed Snow by Night a few months ago, and this week, Brittany and I sat down with the Webcomic Beacon to discuss news in comics.
Heroescon is rapidly approaching. Brittany and I will be down for the show at Table AA-23. We’ll have the brand new books for Chapter 3 (as well as Chapters 1 and 2), brand new prints, and some new buttons. We’ll be getting these all up on the online store (which is in progress) too, but until then, come buy them from us in person.
