Almanac – Fish Trade
August 29th, 2013This week’s Almanac Entry is the Fish Trade. The bountiful fishing is what first brought sailors to the shores off Everique. It’s prompted wars, migration, and created a new culture. As always, click on the image above to be taken to the full entry in the almanac.
Brittany is off to DragonCon. She’s not vending. This is her fun convention. Between that and Labor Day, we will not be posting a page on Monday. Happy Labor Day everyone. Enjoy the end of Summer!

The Snow by Night Store got a make-over this week. And it really needed one too. Diane and I spruced it up with new graphics and more information. We also added the Spirits of the Seasons prints by Julie Wright and Giavere the Starkindler by Naty Baaklini. You can now get all these wonderful prints through the store.
Next item on the agenda, make digital downloads of the chapters…

August 25th, 2013Awwww. Poor Jassart on Chapter 7 Page 14. Is Snow-by-Night leaving you hanging? The next page is one of Brittany’s best with an impressive coloring job from Naty. To see a preview, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
I spent the past weekend at Intervention with some great webcomic artists. I had the pleasure of hosting Robin of Ley Lines for the weekend on her first excursion to the East Coast. We also met up with the Tangent Artists, Team Tamuran, Liz of Adrastus, Eric of Blade Bunny, Travis of Hainted Haller, and Zyren of LaSalle’s Legacy — all makers of excellent webcomics. Pete Abrams, of Sluggy Freelance and our king for the weekend, even socialized with us peasant rabble (and we gave him no end in grief for it). I got to meet Veronica of Bittersweet Candy Bowl. She is unbelievably sweet and I’m looking forward to reading the books I bought from her. I also met Aneeka from Not A Villain. She’s got a wicked sense of humor so I know I’m going to like reading her books.
Almanac – Gulf of the Grande Vire
August 22nd, 2013This week’s Almanac entry discusses the Gulf of the Grande Vire. This enormous gulf is where the Grande Vire River meets the sea. It’s long been a great fishing spot and its banks were the site of the first meetings between the Saronnans and the native tribes of Everique.
One other housekeeping matter. Upon reflection, I decided that Social Clubs belonged under Businesses in the Almanac instead of Entertainment. So it’s been moved over to that section.

August 20th, 2013On Chapter 7 Page 13, we return to L’Heureux Falls, but this time it is Jassart calling out to Snow-by-Night. This can’t end well. To see a preview of how Snow-by-Night responds, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
Chapter 7 Page 12
August 18th, 2013There comes a point in every dying relationship when there’s just nothing left to say. Mathilde and Jassart have reached that point on Chapter 7 Page 12. Wednesday’s page has one of the best panels that we’ve done so far. To see a preview of it, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
Almanac – Social Clubs
August 15th, 2013This week’s Almanac entry is social clubs. These luxurious, members-only establishments are the bourgeois’ alternative to the noble’s court. Here, titles aren’t necessary – just a good name, good manners, and a whole lot of money. One of these places is the Rampart’s Club in Sherbourg, where Jassart has taken Mathilde for a fancy night on the town. Now Jassart doesn’t have a good name and his manners are barely acceptable as can be seen by his wine glass being on the wrong side. So how did he get in? Enough money will get these clubs to bend the rules a bit.
Chapter 7 Page 11
August 13th, 2013Jassart tries to recruit Mathilde into his plan to save Blaise from himself on Chapter 7 Page 11. To see a preview of the next page, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
I got the Otakon con report up as a photo album on our Facebook page. Lots of pictures showing what can only be described as the “Sticky Note Incident.”
