Almanac – Paws-Tread-Lightly
October 9th, 2014This week’s almanac entry is Paws-Tread-Lightly. Our fox spirit is a spirit guide who gives counsel to others while keeping his own for himself. He’s a friend of Snow-by-Night and now an advisor to Blaise.

Chapter 9 Page 22
October 5th, 2014Blaise emerges from the icy river only to face a fully manifested manitou on Chapter 9 Page 22. Fortunately for Blaise, Paws makes his reappearance. Gekgekgek! If you missed our Almanac entry about foxes, they make a sound called gekkering when they fight. Listen to what it sounds likeĀ here.
I hope you like the design for Chugan as a fully manifested spirit. Julie drew from Huron and Iroquois artwork. He won’t be the only one in this art style. To see Paws-Tread-LIghtly in his manifested form, please vote for Snow by Night on Top Web Comics.
Almanac – Crow
October 2nd, 2014This week’s Almanac entry is the Crow. With Chugan being center-stage, it seemed like a good time to talk about crows and their spiritual meaning. This one took a good bit of research as crows have different meaning to the different tribes. Also, a lot of my research results kept conflating ravens and crows, which are very different animals. In the end, I pick and chose which legends to use for what suited my needs with this story.
