A Berry from the Sun Page 1
April 19th, 2015Today we begin the vignette A Berry from the Sun. This is the story that Alays tells to Jassart and Vivienne (and Mathilde), brought to watercolor reality by the incredibly talented Cari Corene. She wanted to illustrate it as if it was a story book. It’s a story about manitou and their adventures. If you were following along the updates to the Kickstarter campaign, you’ll recognize a few of the manitou. Absolutely LOVELY watercolor! I’ve always loved reading the mythos of various cultures, and I’m curious to know if this will be based on actual stories from the tribes of Eastern Canada, or if it is entirely an original creation. Either way, I look forward to following the story.
This story will be an original creation that’s inspired by the folklore of the nations of the eastern woodlands. Cari does do beautiful work. When I was dreaming up this story, I knew I need her talent to make it soar.

Fixed. Shifting from the main story to the vignette changes the pattern on the number and sometimes throws me.
