Almanac – Alchemical Processes 3
February 26th, 2014Some good news and bad news today. The bad news first. Our colorist had a computer meltdown this week and wasn’t able to get page 8.22 done. So the good news is we have a surprise almanac entry. I’m discussing the final three processes of Alchemy.

Also hella bummed. I was gonna try to do last minute art for the contest cos I always find I work better on contest art with a looming deadline and my freaking tendinitis flared up this week. Going thru art withdrawal hardcore rn too 8( so booooo on me.

From Alchemical Processes….
1.Calcination is the process of dehydration by fire and the reduction of a substance to complete ash.
It drives off water and other volatile compounds and brings about a decomposition of the material.
The resulting ash is the essence of the original substance — its Sophic Salt.
*Human creation is a form of calcination*.
2. Prime matter: An alchemist can reveal the Prime Matter from any material if that material is completely dissolved and broken down into its most fundamental essences.
3.Dissolution is the transformation of a substance by immersing it in a liquid. Dissolution can break down corrupted and artificial structures. It releases inner properties and powers of a substance. Most commonly, the ashes from the calcination process are dissolved. The water then takes on the properties of the original substance, but in a purer, more concentrated form.
Snow By Night, what may remain of her, is engulfed by fire, there is lots of melting snow from the fire…. aether is being released….
The Wild Guesses: Through the process of calcination and dissolution Snow By Night is refined to Prime Matter, which combined with the just released aether taken from her, will result in a very radically new Snow By Night. Maybe in this form she will find her heart?

Terrible news! I’ll keep myfingers crossed for no lost data, since the good ship Backup has already sailed.
Fortunately, it was just a driver issue. No data was lost as far as I know. It’s taking a bit to get the drivers sorted out and all the programs reinstalled.
